Caught easter egg hunt 2018
F.A.Q. and terms & conditions
Why do you guys do this?
First of all we thought it would be a cool idea to organise a digital egg hunt for easter.
Besides that it is a way to promote the Caught platform.
What is Caught and what can I do with it?
Hunting easter eggs of course…
OK, although digitally collecting easter eggs might be a nice and fun activity, this is not Caught’s sole goal. It is more of a toolbox to create Apps like this one yourself; Location Based Apps.
Caught is primarily intented for organizations that use the software for all kinds of different purposes. This can be a cool city game, but also an interactive tour, boat- or car ride… you name it!
Our partners have already created many creative apps using the building blocks in the Caught Toolbox.

Until when can I hunt for eggs?
This promotion ends on Monday 2nd of April. Until then (23:59 CET) you can collect & sort eggs.
When do I win the €100 voucher?
- Participate in the promotion (instructions here) and make sure to enter a valid E-mail address.
- Collect & sort the most easter eggs until the end of the easter weekend (Monday 2nd of April, 23:59 CET). The one who collects most points wins the game.
- In case of a draw we will look at who has collected the eggs fastest. This we measure to the millisecond.
Where can I exchange my voucher? Can I also get €100 in cash?
The voucher in value of €100 (one hundred) will be bought at an online shop in consultation with you. One condition is of course that this store offers (digital) vouchers.
We can and will not pay the amount in cash!
What will you do with my data?
We promise to send you only one e-mail after the event, announcing the winner.
Your location data will stay on our servers for a maximum of 30 minutes, so you don’t have to worry about that! Photo’s that you take and send via the app might be used on our social media to promote the platform. Do you not want this? Just send us an e-mail.
The app can not be found/ is not visible in the store/ can not be downloaded
You need an iPhone or iPad with iOS 8 or higher.
For Android this is version 4.4 or higher. If you have a lower version, you’ll not be able to install the app. Time to borrow the phone of your dad/mom/brother/sister/best friend*, win that €100 voucher and buy a new one!

There is an egg on/in/under/over/between … anyway, I can’t reach it
The easter bunny has given it’s best to hide the eggs as well as possible. So, it can happen that eggs end up on a spot that is not (very) easily reachable.
Although we understand your enthusiasm to collect all eggs, we want to urge you to:
Don’t perform any intricate manoeuvres to find them and conform to the law and local rules at all times!
Always attend - as the app reminds you upon starting - to your own safety and that of others around you.
The eggs of X are hidden on different spots than mine
That can be. We have hired a personal easter bunny for everyone. Cool, huh?
The eggs will be spread in an area around your location upon the first login. You can always decide to start over at another location.
How often can I participate?
As often as you like. You can always start over
Why should we stop you if 50 eggs is not enough for you?
Note that for the end result only your best attempt will count.
How can I start over?
You can start over as often as you want. If you log out (or reinstall the app) you can enter another name (and the same e-mail address) and then you can start over!
The eggs will then be spread around the location where you log in.
I’m experiencing (technical) issues with the App
In that case the result might be in the items below. If not, please contact us.
I want to continue on another device / I have reinstalled the app, can I continue where I left off?
You can ‘switch’ deviced at any time by starting the app on another device. After login you enter your first- and last name (or your chosen nickname) and the correct PIN to continue where you left off.
My device’s battery life is dying, what can I do?
Using the GPS sensor of your device can be heavy on the battery life. Especially for older devices this can be a larger problem than for the latest generation of devices.
- Make use of a mobile powerbank to charge your device while using the app
- Should you phone run empty: You can always continue on another device
Alerts are repeatedly popping up in my screen when receiving messages or assignments.
The app was designed to log in with 1 device under the same PIN code. Use only 1 device under the same name and PIN.
- Close the app on all devices
- Start the app on only 1 device under the same name and PIN.
My iPhone/iPad shuts down while I still have X% battery life
Unfortunately some Apple iPhone products have problems with very cold or warm environment temperatures. If you are using outside it can be that the device suddenly shuts down to protect itself. See also this website.
Possible solutions (short term):
- Leave the cold and attach to phone to a powerbank or charger to revive the battery.
- Use a cover to keep you phone ‘warm’.
Long term solutions:
- (Re-)Calibrate the battery if you don’t think your device has become (too) cold or warm. For more information see this website
The app doesn’t show my location or gives me and error that my location cannot be found.
The app is dependent on the location of your device, especially the availability of GPS signal. GPS signal is practically available - outside - everywhere around the world. Inside the app uses your network connection to estimate your location. This can be less accurate than your GPS signal. When starting the app it will ask for permission to use your accurate location. This permission is required to let the app function well.
- Start the default ‘Maps’ app on your device; does the location show there?
- Make sure that ‘location usages’ is enabled and allowed in your device settings.
Did you not give permission to the app (by accident)?
- Restart the app - it will ask again if you did not disable ‘ask again’.
- Give permission via the ‘settings’ menu of your device to use the accurate location OR
- Reinstall the app and make sure to give permission upon starting the app.
My location is not accurate or is moving around
The app is dependent on the location of your device, especially the availability of GPS signal. GPS signal is practically available - outside - everywhere around the world. Inside the app uses your network connection to estimate your location. This can be less accurate than your GPS signal. When starting the app it will ask for permission to use your accurate location. This permission is required to let the app function well.
In the settings of your device you can possibly indicate that only accurate (GPS based) locations will be used.
When the device is connecting with GPS satellites to determine your location, it can be that the location will move around a bit. When the so-called ‘GPS fix’ improves this will become less.
I do not receive message or cannot send messages | the app cannot send photos or videos | The app does not respond to my input | the app keeps ‘loading’.
The app is dependent on a constant and stable connection with the Internet. When the connection drops the app will tell you and might ask you to reconnect. Sometimes loading can take a bit longer if the connection speed is low.
- Check that you have Wifi, 3G- or 4G connection. (Visit a website)
- If there is connection (again); restart the app.
